Cele mai bune 50 Albume Reggae lansate în 2014

[Scroll for English version]

50 Best Reggae Albums of 2014

Yesterday, we talked about 100 Best Reggae & Dancehall Songs in 2014 and today we’re gonna keep your attention with 50 Best Reggae Albums released in 2014, selected by Zona Reggae, obviously.

We took into account many criteria for making this top, such as: vocals, backing vocals, production, sound quality, the message of the album and sleeve 🙂 . So, in the end, our selection includes the most complete fifty reggae albums released in 2014.

A complete review and also many tracks included on the albums listed bellow can be seen and listened by simply clicking on the link. Our selection is again very diverse and its purpose is to satisfy every reggae listener’s taste.

Zona Reggae

Clearly, we want to confess that we left out the EPs, the reissued and the live albums and also the remixed ones.

At the bonus part we choose two creations that are crossing the reggae style borders, but which are inspired by the origins of this music, and for the extra bonus we took into consideration the live album released by Gentleman in 2014. This one is an extra bonus because, as we said, the live albums couldn’t be part of the original selection. But, it was a pity not to mention the MTV Unplugged (Live) here, because this album is a masterpiece.

For this article, we used an image related with Born A King, delivered by Sizzla and produced by Mista Savona, a very talented producer from Australia. In our opinion this is the album of the year. It was hard to choose between this and other albums like Dread & TerribleBeauty For AshesDestinyThe Sound or Representing.

However, Born A King is an album that sounds perfect from the first to the last track and it has a strong message. Sizzla demonstrates that is a king at interpretation and he also proves that he can deejay in various styles. Also, the featurings from this album are on top. Born A King is considered worldwide to be one of the best releases from Sizzla Kalonji so far, a man with over seventy albums released in his entire career.

The albums are listed in alphabetical order.
